Inspired by ULC minister Gil Masters, who presided over the marriage of Scott and Annie in 1998, Scott Veirs was ordained by the ULC in 1999.

Reverend Veirs offers free non-denominational services at weddings, affirmations of love, divorces, and funerals in the Pacific Northwest. With additional expertise in oceanography, he specializes in under-water, in-the-water, on-the-water, and near-the-water ceremonies and celebrations.

It has been his honor to witness:

• the marriage of Zander and Megan, Point Montara Lighthouse beach, California
• the marriage of Alan and Elizabeth, Mississippi River Plantation, Louisiana (formalized in Seattle, Washington)
• the marriage of Peter and Nazanin, Boston, Massachusetts (formalized north of Baltimore, Maryland, in the Chesapeake Bay watershed on June 2, 2001)
• the marriage of Julian and Kim, Loreto, Mexico (formalized in Seattle, Washington, November 29, 2005)
