Oceanography Teaching Guide
One of the unique aspects of the University of Washington School of Oceanography is that it is physically proximal to an undergraduate population. The availability of both non-science students and oceanography majors affords an unusual opportunity for graduate students to learn to teach at the undergraduate level. While working as a TA is currently a departmental requirement, this web site is intended to transform the chore into a choice.
The guide is designed to ease your tasks as a TA by streamlining the organization and
presentation of course materials. En route, it aims to help you learn
how to teach well through the development of practical skills and an
introduction to pedagogical literature and resources.
